Rob Turner, Interim CEO
Rob Turner has been instrumental in the growth of Advanced Diagnostics Healthcare System, first as a consultant and officially joining in 2016. With over 30 years of executive healthcare leadership, he has managed medical laboratories, skilled nursing facilities, and acute care hospitals. A strategic leader with deep market expertise, he drives development through innovation and vision. Outside of work, he serves on multiple FQHC boards, participates in global healthcare initiatives, and is active in his church community
Dr. Michael Smith, Chief of Staff
Dr. Smith, a native Texan and dedicated bilingual physician, brings over 25 years of healthcare experience to Advanced Dallas Hospital & Clinics. A United States Coast Guard veteran, Dr. Smith began his healthcare journey as a specialized rescue swimmer with EMT training. He later earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine. Dr. Smith has held numerous leadership positions, including Medical Director at a Level 1 Trauma Center and CEO. After relocating to the DFW area to be closer to family, he now focuses on workers’ compensation and pre-employment medicine, ensuring coordinated care from injury through recovery. Beyond work, Dr. Smith is committed to global impact, participating in mission work in Central America. He has been married for nearly 34 years and is a father of three. In his free time, he enjoys cycling 30 to 60 miles weekly.
Kerry Baucom, BSN, MBA, HACP, CPHQ - Chief Nursing Officer
Kerry Bauman brings exceptional leadership and a commitment to quality patient-centered care to Advanced Dallas. As a former cardiology nurse, she brings a unique understanding of the critical importance of delivering top-tier clinical services. As CNO, Kerry oversees all aspects of clinical care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to implement innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement. Before joining Advanced, Kerry held prominent quality leadership roles at LifeCare Hospital, PSN Affiliates, Texas Health Hospital in Rockwall, and Medical City in Las Colinas.
Dr. Wafer Gamil - Medical Director
Dr. Gamil brings over three decades of experience to Advanced Dallas. An internal medicine specialist passionate about outstanding patient care, Dr. Gamil is committed to knowledge-based treatment delivered with empathy. He has dedicated his career to diagnosing and treating various medical conditions through personalized treatment plans tailored to meet a patient’s goals. Recently, a patient shared, “Dr. Gamil is, without a doubt, the kindest doctor I have ever seen. He listens, remembers, details, and always works in the best interest of his patients. He is never in a hurry to leave the room and always follows up with patients on his promises.”
Kevin Smoot - Executive Director, Subacute Trauma Program
Kevin Smoot joins Advanced Diagnostics Healthcare System with over 30 years of management and sales and marketing experience. Mr. Smoot has extensive experience in business development and managing business units. Outside of work Mr. Smoot has worked on the advisory board for the Texas Southern School of Business, Big Brother and Big Sisters, Prisoners Entrepreneur Program (PEP) and volunteers at Provision School in Houston.
